Mexican-Portuguese Visual Artist. Graduated in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Arts and Design of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He did his master’s degree in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Lisbon University. He is currently a PhD candidate in Media Arts at the Beira Interior University in Portugal.
Over several years his artistic work is based on landscape practice through aesthetic experience in situ with a associated perspective to ecology in the holistic sense and in relation to community art practices.
Fernando has held seven solo exhibitions in Mexico and Portugal, among which stand out Deambulando entre Montanhas (2020) at João Pedro Veiga Gallery, Golegã, Ananda Kalyani. Evoking the Landscape (2015) at FBA-UL Gallery and Caminhante da Terra. Percursos entre o espaço geográfico e a Paisagem (2012) at Fábrica Braço de Prata, Lisbon.
He has participated in 28 group exhibitions among them, 6th International Biennial of Art of Espinho (2021) with Honorable Mention , Dear 2050. Humans respond to Climate Change (2020), Capela de Santa Ana, Zurich and Terra-Nube (2015) Galeria 78-80, Lisbon.
